Manchester United are reportedly trying to sign Arsenal’s teenage prodigy, Chido Obi-Martin. The 16-year-old striker, considered one of England’s brightest talents, caught attention after scoring ten goals in a youth game against Liverpool last season.
Obi-Martin, who rejected a “fair” contract offer from Arsenal, could leave the Gunners when he turns 17 on November 29. United are keen to secure a deal following the expiry of his schoolboy terms in North London. Since joining Arsenal from Danish side KB in 2022, Obi-Martin has shone in youth leagues. He scored ten goals in a 14-3 win over Liverpool’s Under-16s and tallied 29 goals in 17 Under-18 league matches, including five against West Ham and seven in one game against Norwich.
Obi-Martin also represented Denmark in the 2024 UEFA European Under-17s Championships qualification, scoring twice in three games. While several clubs are interested, Manchester City is not among the suitors. United are exploring options to bring the highly-rated starlet to Old Trafford, aiming to bolster their youth ranks with this prolific young talent.
