Fiorentina has officially announced the acquisition of Marin Pongracic from Lecce.

The Croatian international joins the Tuscan side for a reported €15 million transfer fee, with an additional €1 million in potential bonuses.

“ACF Fiorentina is pleased to confirm the signing of Marin Pongracic on a permanent deal from U.S. Lecce,” the club stated.

“Pongracic, born on September 11, 1997, in Landshut, Germany, has previously played for Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund, and Wolfsburg, in addition to Lecce.

“Our new defender has earned ten caps for the Croatian national team and was part of the squad for Euro 2024.”

Pongracic was nearing a move to French club Rennes, but Fiorentina swooped in to secure his signing after transferring Nikola Milenkovic to Nottingham Forest.
