Manchester United have officially signed Lille’s prodigy, Leny Yoro, in a £52 million deal. The 18-year-old center-back completed his medical and signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils.  Yoro’s arrival marks United’s second signing under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, following Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36.5 million.

Last season, Yoro made 32 appearances for Lille, drawing interest from major European clubs, including Real Madrid and Liverpool. Yoro expressed his excitement, stating, “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honor. The club’s clear plan for my development and their care for me and my family convinced me that this is the perfect place to reach my potential.” United’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, praised Yoro, saying, “Leny is one of the most exciting young defenders in world football. He possesses every attribute needed to develop into a top-class center-back.

Under Erik ten Hag, we will ensure Leny has the perfect platform to achieve success.” Fans celebrated the signing on social media, eagerly anticipating Yoro’s impact at Old Trafford. United are also eyeing additional center-back reinforcements and prioritizing a central midfielder to strengthen the team’s core.
