Bologna continues their search for a new central defender and has initiated discussions with Juventus’ Daniele Rugani, according to reports.
The 29-year-old Italian recently extended his contract with Juventus for two years but is unlikely to feature prominently under Thiago Motta’s new plans. Offers have already begun to surface, including interest from Saudi Arabia, while Atalanta is also reportedly considering a move.
Meanwhile, Bologna is gearing up to sell Riccardo Calafiori in the coming weeks, with Arsenal reportedly in the lead for his signature. Consequently, they have begun scouting for potential replacements ahead of Vincenzo Italiano’s debut season in charge.
Reports from today’s Corriere dello Sport indicate that Bologna has identified Rugani as a target in their search for defensive reinforcements. He joins Mats Hummels and Udinese’s Jaka Bijol on their list of potential acquisitions. The club has already been in touch with Rugani’s agent and is expected to contact Juventus soon.
