Anthony Gordon has made a strong impression at Newcastle since leaving Everton in January 2023 and has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool. Former Liverpool player Hamman, speaking on behalf of Top Offshore Casinos, believes Gordon possesses the qualities needed to potentially succeed Mohamed Salah, whose future at Liverpool is uncertain.

Hamman noted, “We’ve seen Anthony Gordon have a huge impact in the Premier League. He did so at Everton even when they were struggling and after a tough start at Newcastle he has battled through and he’s one of their best players now. I read somewhere that Liverpool is his boyhood club and I think it would be a brilliant signing, it also looks like Newcastle might need to sell some players this summer too. It depends on what Salah does.”

“It’s been said for the last few years that it’s his last season and that he’s going to go in the summer. So obviously we need to find out and see what’s happening but I think Gordon would be a brilliant signing because obviously going forward, if you’ve got pace, it just changes games. He had a brilliant season for Newcastle and we need somebody who steps up and scores these goals in important games.”

Liverpool is entering a new phase, and Arne Slot may consider introducing fresh talent to the squad. With players like Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Andy Robertson now in their 30s, planning for the future with prospects like Gordon would be a positive move for Liverpool.

Gordon is currently enjoying a break following his participation in Euro 2024 with England. While there are no confirmed reports of Liverpool’s interest in the 23-year-old, this could change as the new Premier League season approaches.
