Former Arsenal star Nicklas Bendtner has launched his own gaming company, Legendary Gaming Group, following his retirement from football in 2019. Bendtner, 36, transitioned into esports after spending the Covid-19 pandemic playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Bendtner’s new venture, created with partners Morten Jensen, Atle Stehouer, Stephen Shine, and Jonas Rosbech, aims to provide a premier esports experience. The company focuses on elite talent development, cutting-edge scouting, and hosting thrilling events. Bendtner stated that his role in the company would be active, although the exact title remains undecided as it depends on the roles of other sports profiles joining.

The Legendary Gaming Group website highlights its mission: “We collaborate with top brands, NGOs, and sponsors to create impactful partnerships. Join us to elevate your gaming journey and be part of the future of esports innovation.”

Bendtner joined Arsenal’s academy in 2004 at 16 and made his senior debut in 2005. During his nine-year tenure, he scored 47 goals and provided 22 assists in 171 appearances. He also played for Birmingham, Sunderland, Juventus, Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest, Rosenborg, and Copenhagen before retiring at 31.
