The 24-year-old winger appeared close to departing from Manchester United following a turbulent period that saw him loaned to Borussia Dortmund in the latter half of last season. Sancho was sidelined from the first-team squad in September following a public disagreement with Erik ten Hag. The United manager criticized Sancho’s training performances, which the winger disputed vehemently on social media. Sancho’s refusal to apologize for his remarks resulted in his exclusion from first-team activities, leading him to train alone before returning to Dortmund in January.

Recently, Sancho has resumed training with the first team at United after candid discussions at Carrington last week. These talks seem to have resolved the tension between Sancho and ten Hag, allowing both sides to move forward as the new season approaches.

Ten Hag remained cautious when discussing Sancho’s future at the club but acknowledged that their relationship has improved. “As we said, we draw the line. Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and we move on,” Ten Hag commented, signaling a fresh start for the winger.

During his loan stint at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho rediscovered some of his best form, contributing three goals and assists each in 21 appearances across all competitions, helping them reach the Champions League final. However, Dortmund has not tabled a formal bid for the English forward and has reassigned Sancho’s No. 10 jersey to Julian Brandt, suggesting they are not pursuing a permanent transfer.

Sancho has also been linked with a move to Juventus, but ten Hag’s recent remarks indicate that he will have the opportunity to reclaim a key role at United. After missing their initial pre-season friendly against Rosenborg, the forward is expected to be available for their upcoming match against Rangers on July 20.
