Manchester United star Casemiro narrowly avoided a serious injury during a friendly against Rosenborg, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for the Red Devils at the Lerkendal Stadion in Norway. Manager Erik ten Hag’s side faced a scare just 18 minutes into their pre-season tour opener when Rosenborg’s Tomas Nemcik’s reckless tackle nearly snapped Casemiro’s leg.

The Slovakian received a yellow card, and fortunately, Casemiro was able to continue playing.  Fans expressed their outrage on social media. One tweeted, “That tackle has NO reason to happen. Nearly cost us 20-30mil with one challenge.” Another added, “If they had broken Casemiro’s leg I would’ve been P****D.”Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, Casemiro remains with Manchester United.

United struggled throughout the match, with stand-in goalkeeper Radek Vitek making several crucial saves. However, Noah Holm’s last-minute goal secured victory for Rosenborg. The incident has heightened concerns about player safety during pre-season matches, emphasizing the importance of protecting key players ahead of the new season.
