Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on the verge of a surprise move to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah. The former Chelsea and Arsenal striker, who impressed with 30 goals and 11 assists in 51 appearances for Marseille last season, is set to sign a contract until 2026, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Marseille were initially keen to retain the 35-year-old Gabonese star but have now accepted his departure. Aubameyang will join a squad featuring former Real Madrid defender Nacho, who moved to Al Qadsiah in June after 23 years and 26 titles with the Spanish giants. Other notable teammates include ex-Wigan and Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles and former Fulham loanee Luciano Vietto.

Aubameyang’s Premier League career saw him net 69 goals in 143 appearances for Chelsea and Arsenal. Al Qadsiah, based in Khobar and playing in the 20,000-seater Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium, earned promotion to the Saudi Pro League for the upcoming season.
