Milan have reportedly submitted their initial bid to Monaco for French midfielder Youssouf Fofana following the conclusion of personal terms earlier this week. According to updates from Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri have proposed an offer starting at €12 million, with additional performance-based incentives, for the 25-year-old, who has represented France 21 times.

However, negotiations remain ongoing as Monaco holds firm on their €25 million valuation, despite Fofana entering the final year of his contract, which expires at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Should Monaco not accept the initial bid, Calciomercato suggests Milan may refrain from revising their offer. Fofana is reportedly eager to join Milan’s project and reunite with fellow French internationals Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan at San Siro.

Earlier reports indicated Milan’s agreement on a contract offer of €3.5 million annually for Fofana, which represents a €1 million increase over his current earnings in Ligue 1. The contract is expected to span a minimum of four years, with an option for a fifth year.
