The anticipation in Madrid has hit an all-time high as Mbappe’s upcoming presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is set for Tuesday. Initially, Real Madrid offered free tickets to club members, but the immense demand led many to resell their tickets at steep prices.
Resale prices range from €30 to €200 based on seat location, frustrating many eager fans. The online queue saw over 100,000 fans vying for a spot, far exceeding the stadium’s 85,000 capacity.
The resale situation has angered Real Madrid supporters, who expressed their outrage on social media.
“Tickets for the Mbappe presentation are on sale and within a few hours, the members (who won’t even go) have almost sold out and are putting them up for resale at exorbitant prices. Going to the Bernabéu for normal people isn’t a luxury, it’s simply not possible,” one fan lamented on Twitter (according to Vozpopuli).
Another added, “It’s disgraceful for members to act this way. The club needs to identify and expel those reselling tickets.”
Cristiano Ronaldo’s presentation at the Bernabeu drew around 80,000 fans, the highest attendance for a player unveiling. This record might be surpassed on Tuesday due to the excitement surrounding Mbappe. The demand for his No.9 shirt has also surged, leading Real Madrid to announce a delivery delay of 4-6 weeks.
Mbappe’s official presentation is set for Tuesday, July 16, at 12:00 PM at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Before this event, he will sign his contract at Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s training ground. Club president Florentino Pérez will introduce Mbappe at Real Madrid City, marking the start of his five-year tenure.
Following the contract signing, Mbappe will head to the Bernabeu for a grand presentation ceremony expected to feature Real Madrid legends like Zinedine Zidane. The event will include live music, fireworks, and 360-degree panoramic cameras to capture every moment.
