Joshua Zirkzee has arrived in England ahead of signing for Manchester United in a £34 million deal. The Dutch striker is set to undergo a medical and agree to a five-year contract. The 6’4″ international debuted for Holland during the Euros in their quarter-final win over Turkey and appeared in the semi-final against England.

Zirkzee, 23, moves from Bologna, where he scored 11 goals in 34 Serie A games, helping the team secure a fifth-place finish and a Champions League spot. He was seen arriving at Manchester airport before his medical, putting the disappointment of the Euros behind him. At United, Zirkzee will work under Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has joined Erik ten Hag’s coaching team. Van Nistelrooy, a former United great, scored 150 goals in 219 games between 2001 and 2006, winning the Premier League and an FA Cup.

He and Rene Hake, another new assistant, have signed contracts until 2026. Ten Hag expressed his delight at the new additions, emphasizing the fresh energy they bring. United’s Sporting Director, Dan Ashworth, also welcomed Van Nistelrooy back, highlighting his role in reinforcing the club’s winning mentality and high standards.
