According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have come to terms with Bologna for the transfer of Joshua Zirkzee. Instead of activating his release clause, the club will pay just over €40 million for the Dutch forward, who is expected to sign a five-year contract.
Zirkzee had an impressive 2023-24 season, netting 12 goals and providing seven assists across 37 matches in all competitions. Although Bologna qualified for the Champions League by finishing fifth in Serie A, Zirkzee will join Manchester United for the upcoming season.
After starting his professional career with Bayern Munich, Zirkzee spent five years at the club, including loan spells at Parma and Anderlecht. He has earned two caps for the Netherlands, both during Euro 2024.
Manchester United aim to finalize Zirkzee’s signing before their pre-season tour of the United States, where they will face Arsenal, Real Betis, and Liverpool, with Zirkzee likely to participate.
