Chelsea are reportedly planning a surprise move for Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi. Following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure in May, new manager Enzo Maresca is eager to reshape the squad. After acquiring Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester for around £30m, Chelsea now aim to bolster their forward line with the 22-year-old German international.
According to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Chelsea has initiated talks with Adeyemi and is keen to persuade him to move to the UK. Negotiations between Chelsea and Dortmund are set to begin, with Juventus also showing interest in the striker. Dortmund is demanding around £25m for Adeyemi, who is under contract until 2027.
Adeyemi gained prominence with RB Salzburg, scoring 27 goals in 68 league appearances and helping them secure three consecutive Austrian doubles. Dortmund signed him for £32.5m in 2022, and he won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year in his debut season. Despite a less impactful second season, he has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 66 appearances for Dortmund.
