Reports from Italy indicate that Roma are on the brink of finalizing a deal to acquire Enzo Le Fée, the midfielder from Rennes. Earlier this week, Rennes had rejected an initial offer from Roma, but the Italian club has returned with an improved bid totaling €20 million.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the 24-year-old Le Fée is eager to join Roma and both clubs are nearing an agreement.
Discussions between the two sides are scheduled to resume on Monday, July 8, with Roma’s director Florent Ghisolfi optimistic about securing Rennes’s approval for the transfer. Ghisolfi, who previously collaborated with Le Fée at Lorient in Ligue 1, is familiar with the player.
Should the deal proceed as expected, the former French youth international is poised to sign a five-year contract in Rome, reportedly earning around €2.5 million annually.
Corriere notes that Le Fée is ready to depart France for a fresh challenge following a challenging period at Rennes, where he had differences with coach Julien Stephan. Additionally, Le Fée is motivated to compete in European competitions next season.
