Fiorentina have reportedly set their sights on Genoa striker Albert Gudmundsson as their ideal signing for the summer transfer window, despite interest from Inter and several Premier League clubs.
La Viola had seriously considered signing the 27-year-old Icelandic international during Vincenzo Italiano’s tenure in January, but their €20m offer was rejected by Genoa.
In January, Fiorentina was quoted €30m for Gudmundsson, a price expected to have increased following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
Although Fiorentina has not yet made a formal proposal to Genoa, both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia confirm that their interest is genuine, and club representatives are working diligently to craft an enticing offer.
Fiorentina is also set to sign Juventus striker Moise Kean this summer as part of a significant overhaul of their attacking lineup, but they are keen on adding another proven goalscorer.
Inter is still considering a move for Gudmundsson but needs to offload several current first-team players, such as veteran Marko Arnautovic, before making an offer. Additionally, La Gazzetta reports that several Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs are also interested in Gudmundsson and may submit offers to Genoa.
