Roma are actively seeking a new striker, with their latest target reportedly being Villarreal’s Alexander Sorloth, the Norway international.
The Giallorossi find themselves in need of attacking reinforcements following the departure of Andrea Belotti to Como and the return of Romelu Lukaku and Sardar Azmoun after loan spells.
Having explored several options, including Jorgen Strand Larsen, who joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Celta Vigo, Roma have now turned their attention to Sorloth, according to Relevo.
Villarreal have set an asking price of approximately €38 million for the 28-year-old forward, though Roma’s current offer falls significantly short. However, negotiations remain possible.
Reports suggest Sorloth may favor a move to Roma over a Premier League club due to his affinity for Valencia’s climate. His standout season with Villarreal saw him score 26 goals in 41 appearances, including 23 in 34 LaLiga matches, before a thigh injury in November 2023 interrupted his pursuit of the top scorer title.
