Joshua Zirkzee’s release clause, as revealed by Fabrizio Romano, must be settled by the beginning of August rather than remaining valid throughout the entire summer.

Milan and Manchester United are facing a time crunch to secure the €40 million clause required to sign Bologna’s Zirkzee, according to Romano’s report. Both clubs consider the Dutch striker a priority, with Milan prepared to meet his exit clause.

However, negotiations with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, have hit a snag as Milan hesitates over paying a €15 million commission demanded by the player’s representative.

Romano notes that Manchester United is internally deliberating whether to make a bid for Zirkzee.

According to a recent update from Sky Sport Italia, Red Devils’ coach Erik ten Hag has been directly communicating with the 23-year-old striker, who has become his primary transfer target for bolstering the attack.

Zirkzee is currently part of the Netherlands squad at EURO 2024 but is among the highly valued players yet to debut in the competition.
