Sky Sport Italia has reported that Napoli is currently negotiating with Leonardo Spinazzola, aiming to secure his transfer to Stadio Maradona on a free transfer once his contract with Roma expires. Napoli is keen on signing the Italian international, with discussions ongoing between the club and Spinazzola’s representatives.
Spinazzola’s contract with Roma will conclude this month, and he has no intentions of renewing his deal with the Giallorossi. Napoli’s new coach, Antonio Conte, who has long admired Spinazzola, could have collaborated with him back in January 2020 during discussions between Inter and Roma involving a swap deal for Matteo Politano, which ultimately fell through.
During the 2023-24 season, Spinazzola made 36 appearances for Roma, contributing one goal and four assists. Napoli, under Conte’s leadership, is undergoing significant squad restructuring, which includes plans to retain Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. President Aurelio De Laurentiis and director Giovanni Manna recently travelled to Germany to meet with the Georgian international, reportedly making progress in talks regarding a contract extension.
