The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper, facing uncertainties about his future at the club level, was substituted at halftime by Ethan Horvath as the United States endured a disappointing setback in Atlanta. The match was tied at 1-1 when Turner was forced off due to injury.

Despite Panama also being reduced to 10 men late in the game, they managed to secure a 2-1 lead and held on to claim three crucial points. The U.S. faced an uphill battle after Tim Weah received a red card just 16 minutes into the match.

With their sights set on the quarter-finals, the USMNT must secure a positive result against Uruguay in their final Group C fixture. Turner informed TUDN that his availability for that game is uncertain, but he remains optimistic, awaiting confirmation of the severity of his left knee issue within the next 48 hours.

Reflecting on his apprehensions ahead of the Panama match, Turner admitted, “For some reason, I had a premonition that something bad was going to happen.” Unfortunately, his fears materialized, and now Gregg Berhalter’s team must rally together for a strong collective performance as they prepare to face Uruguay at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City on Monday.
