Hakan Calhanoglu and his agent Gordon Stipic reportedly sought a fresh contract agreement at Inter despite Bayern Munich’s interest.
Recent reports from Turkey and Germany highlighted Bayern Munich’s keenness to acquire the Nerazzurri star this summer, with discussions of a potential €70m bid circulating. Initially appearing receptive to the idea, Calhanoglu engaged in talks with the club.
However, following a period of uncertainty, Calhanoglu clarified his stance in a statement, affirming his commitment to Inter and dismissing any notions of a transfer to Bayern Munich this season.
According to today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, Calhanoglu and Stipic attempted to leverage Bayern’s interest to negotiate a new deal with Inter. Their proposal included an additional year on his current contract and a slight increase in salary. Despite their efforts, Inter’s management swiftly rejected the proposition, signaling no intention to offer a new contract. This prompted Calhanoglu to withdraw and definitively rule out a move to Bayern Munich.
