However, on Tuesday, the Spanish champions revealed that the defender has left the club. The 34-year-old is now set to join Al-Qadsiah, a newly-promoted team in the Saudi Pro League.
As Nacho embarks on this new chapter, his former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo shared a congratulatory message on social media, praising him as a legend of the club.
Commenting on Nacho’s Instagram post where he said farewell to Real Madrid, the Portuguese star wrote: “You are one of the heroes of Real Madrid’s great history. Be proud of what you achieved, Nacho!”
Despite being omitted from Spain’s starting lineup in their last two Euro 2024 matches against Italy and Albania, Nacho played in their opening game against Croatia. He might return to action in the round of 16 on June 30.
