Thierry Henry has emerged as a surprise contender for the Wales managerial position, following Robert Page’s dismissal. Former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw endorses the Arsenal legend for the role. Henry, currently the France Under-21 coach and set to lead the Olympic team, did his coaching badges alongside Earnshaw in Wales.

Earnshaw praised Henry’s football acumen and understanding of Welsh football, highlighting his familiarity with the Welsh FA and technical director David Adams. “His football brain is brilliant, advanced, and has great ideas,” Earnshaw stated, emphasizing Henry’s ability to work with young players. Other potential candidates include Osian Roberts, Como’s head of development, and Burnley’s interim boss Craig Bellamy. Former Wales managers Ryan Giggs and Mark Hughes are also interested in returning to management. Earnshaw, with 59 caps for Wales, acknowledged Roberts’ extensive experience and praised Bellamy’s tactical sharpness.

He emphasized the need for a manager who can extract the best from the players, a quality he felt was lacking under Page’s tenure. Additionally, former Cardiff boss Neil Warnock expressed his willingness to consider the vacant position, adding to the list of potential candidates for the Wales job.
