According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus is facing limited options in replacing Weston McKennie in a potential swap deal with Aston Villa, while Tottenham has explicitly denied any interest in the American midfielder.

Discussions between Juventus and Aston Villa regarding a swap involving Douglas Luiz, Samuel Iling-Junior, and McKennie have been halted due to McKennie’s hesitance to approve the transfer.

Page 28 of Wednesday’s print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Douglas Luiz is already envisioning himself as a Juventus player. However, Juventus is still working to persuade McKennie to agree to move to Aston Villa.

Reports from Tuttosport and Fabrizio Romano indicate that the primary issue revolves around McKennie’s exit conditions, with the American midfielder likely expecting some form of incentive to leave Turin a year before his contract expires.

Romano also reports that a recent round of discussions among the three parties did not yield progress, prompting Juventus and Aston Villa to contemplate alternative options.

Gazzetta also mentions Juventus considering different players to replace McKennie in the deal. One potential candidate is Moise Kean, the former Everton striker, although Aston Villa’s interest in the Italian remains uncertain.

Regardless, if McKennie is excluded from the negotiations, both clubs would need to renegotiate and revise the terms of the agreement, potentially involving other players.

There have been rumors that Tottenham has disrupted Aston Villa’s pursuit of McKennie, but Tottenham has denied these claims, as reported by various sources including Fabrizio Romano and Matt Law.
