According to the Echo, Everton requested the Premier League authorities to schedule their final game of the 2024-25 season away from Goodison Park to make their farewell match at the iconic stadium a special occasion.

Typically, all clubs play their last game of the season simultaneously, which would split the audience’s attention. To avoid this, Everton arranged to play their final home game on May 18 against Southampton, aiming to ensure it stands out as a significant event.

At the end of the 2024-25 season, Everton will move to their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock, leaving behind the 131-year-old Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche’s team will kick off the new season on Saturday, August 17, against Brighton at home, and will play their final game at St. James’ Park against Newcastle.

The Premier League season will begin on Friday, August 16, with Manchester United facing Fulham at Old Trafford. The first game week also features a high-profile match between Chelsea and reigning champions Manchester City.
