Juventus winger Filip Kostic has sustained partial damage to his external collateral ligament, prompting his departure from the Serbia training camp.
Following an external collateral ligament injury in Serbia’s opening EURO 2024 match against England, Kostic will be compelled to withdraw from the national squad.
On Tuesday, Serbia spokesman Milan Vuković disclosed that an MRI scan confirmed the injury, enforcing Kostic’s absence from action for a minimum of two weeks.
According to local media outlet Mozzartsport, Vuković stated that Kostic will stay with his teammates for an additional two days before returning home.
This injury marks the end of Kostic’s participation in the Euros, making him the second Serie A player after Torino’s Nikola Vlasic to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.
Although 31-year-old Kostic remains under contract with Juventus until June 2026, recent reports from Italy have linked the Serbian international with a potential transfer to Fenerbahce under José Mourinho.
During his tenure at Juventus, Kostic contributed three goals and provided 15 assists across 87 appearances.
