Former Premier League star Landon Donovan has transitioned from the pitch to punditry for Euro 2024. The 42-year-old ex-striker, who made 17 top-flight appearances for Everton, joined the Toffees on loan from LA Galaxy in 2010 and 2012, scoring two goals and providing nine assists in 22 outings.

Donovan’s illustrious career includes stints at Bayer Leverkusen, San Jose Earthquakes, Bayern Munich, and Mexican side Leon. He also made a staggering 157 appearances for the United States national team, making him the second-most-capped player in the country’s history. Five years after his retirement, Donovan now serves as a broadcaster for US TV company Fox Sports. Fans were surprised to see him covering Austria’s Euro 2024 group stage clash with France, and many commented on his unique hairstyle.

One fan noted, “Have to respect the defiance from Landon Donovan,” while another remarked, “Landon Donovan? Wow.” A third added, “Landon Donovan’s barber went ROGUE.” After retiring, Donovan founded and co-owned San Diego Loyal SC, which dissolved last year, and became a strategic advisor for League One side Lincoln City in 2021.
