Theo Hernandez has indicated that his future at Milan is uncertain, despite the club having a plan in place to negotiate a new contract.
The 26-year-old left-back recently avoided discussing his future with the Rossoneri during a press conference while on international duty with France at the European Championship, causing concern among fans, especially given his rumored interest from Bayern Munich.
Having played a pivotal role for Milan over the past five seasons, Theo Hernandez has been instrumental both as a left-back and occasionally as a central defender. In the 2023-24 season alone, he contributed significantly with five goals and 11 assists across 46 appearances.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Theo Hernandez is prepared to commit to a new long-term contract with Milan, but he seeks a substantial increase from his current net salary of €4.5 million per season to approximately €8 million net.
Milan has not yet initiated formal negotiations with Hernandez’s representatives, but they remain composed as he still has two years remaining on his existing contract. A meeting is scheduled to reassess the situation following the conclusion of the European Championship.
However, if an agreement cannot be reached in the coming months, Milan is open to the possibility of selling Theo Hernandez, valuing him at around €85-90 million.
Giorgio Furlani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Geoffrey Moncada are currently strategizing to propose the most competitive offer feasible, bolstered by the absence of concrete bids thus far, with Bayern Munich focusing on securing a new deal for Alphonso Davies.
