Spain’s Alvaro Morata, who has been linked with a Serie A return, jokingly stated that he will “definitely” come back to Italy this summer, but only for vacation.
Former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, currently contracted with Atletico Madrid, remarked on Saturday that he would definitely return to Italy this summer, but solely for holiday purposes.
The Spanish forward’s contract runs until June 2026, and he has been linked with a move back to Juventus in the 2024 summer transfer window, contingent on Moise Kean or Arkadiusz Milik departing.
Morata crossed paths with a Corriere dello Sport journalist in Berlin on Saturday after scoring in Spain’s 3-0 victory over Croatia.
When asked if he would return to Italy this summer, the 31-year-old responded, “What? Surely on holiday.”
It’s unsurprising to hear that Morata plans to spend part of his holidays in Italy, given that his wife, Alice Campello, hails from Venice.
Morata’s Spain will face Italy in their second Group B encounter in Gelsenkirchen on Thursday, June 20th.
