The 19-year-old Argentine spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Monza, impressing with two goals and four assists in 31 Serie A appearances under Raffaele Palladino.
While Inter has been impressed by Carboni’s potential, they are looking to sell him this summer for approximately €30 million to support their transfer plans. Fiorentina and West Ham have both shown interest in acquiring the youngster.
Messi’s admiration for Carboni was evident when he spoke to TyC Sports via FcInterNews following Argentina’s 4-1 friendly victory over Guatemala. He highlighted Carboni’s growth and development, noting his significant improvement since joining the national team camp in the United States.
“I had already seen him in the Under 20s but he has grown a lot. He is a different player, much better trained and with amazing quality.” Messi remarked.
