Chelsea have reportedly agreed to a £42 million deal to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa. According to Colombian reports, the Blues finalized the fee after initially targeting Duran in January. The 20-year-old striker, eager for the move, is already in contract discussions with Chelsea.

Duran joined Villa 18 months ago from MLS side Chicago Fire and has scored eight goals in 49 appearances. Despite strong interest from Chelsea in January, the club opted against a winter move. However, Colombian outlet En La Jugada RCN now claims Villa has accepted a £42 million offer for the forward. Unai Emery, Villa’s manager, has acknowledged the need to sell despite their fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification.

With Ollie Watkins as the first-choice striker, Duran may find more opportunities at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca, who currently relies on Nicolas Jackson. Villa could see more departures, with reports suggesting Juventus have agreed to a deal for midfielder Douglas Luiz. Additionally, Villa is expected to listen to offers for Diego Carlos and aim to sign Luton’s Ross Barkley for £5 million.

Here is the highlight video of Jhon Duran’s skills and goals.
