Galatasaray are reportedly preparing to make another move for Zeki Celik from Roma this summer, aiming to acquire the surplus full-back.
The 27-year-old Turkish midfielder faced challenges securing regular playtime under both Jose Mourinho and Daniele De Rossi during this season in Italy, managing only 663 minutes across 17 Serie A matches, failing to make a significant impact.
De Rossi aims to rejuvenate Roma’s squad and initiate a fresh project this summer. Several surplus players are expected to depart, with Celik evidently among them. He currently has two years remaining on his contract with Roma.
Galatasaray’s renewed interest in Celik is detailed on page 10 of today’s Corriere dello Sport, as they seek to bring the right-back to their squad in the upcoming weeks. Their previous attempts in January failed to reach an agreement with Roma.
Roma anticipates earning approximately €7m from Celik’s sale, with 15% of the proceeds allocated to Lille due to a future resale clause.
