According to Sunday afternoon reports by Matteo Moretto, Luka Jovic is inclined to deliberate carefully on his future choices, despite Milan’s desire to extend his contract for another season.

The Serbian player joined AC Milan on a permanent one-year contract towards the end of the summer transfer window in 2023. Despite not being the primary option during the 2023-24 season, Milan purportedly wishes to retain him for the 2024-25 season.

This intention arises from Olivier Giroud’s impending departure to LAFC in the MLS this summer, leaving Milan without a secured replacement starter. Joshua Zirkzee remains the leading candidate, with Chelsea’s Armando Broja also being considered.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the center-forward position at San Siro, Jovic aims to take his time in comprehending his role within Milan’s setup, as per Moretto’s report.

Further meetings between Milan and Jovic are anticipated in the coming days to clarify their respective plans.

Moretto also reports that Zenit St. Petersburg has shown interest in Jovic, along with several clubs in the Saudi Pro League. However, no concrete proposals have been put forward yet.
