Xavi’s tenure as Barcelona’s manager concluded last month after nearly three years, with the club announcing his departure in anticipation of Hansi Flick’s arrival. The former Spain midfielder is now set to take a sabbatical, but according to Sport, he views the Premier League as an “interesting” opportunity for his next career move.

Xavi’s exit from Barcelona was drawn-out, with the Camp Nou legend initially announcing in January his intention to leave at the end of the season, only to later reverse his decision and declare he would stay another year. Ultimately, the club dismissed him at the end of a campaign where Barcelona finished second in La Liga, 10 points behind Real Madrid.

During his time as manager, Xavi navigated Barcelona through significant financial challenges but still led the team to a La Liga title in the 2022-23 season, adding to the eight league titles he won as a player. As one of the club’s most iconic figures, he also amassed three Copa del Reys and four Champions League titles during his playing career.

At 44, Xavi plans to take a break but remains dedicated to his coaching career. If he moves to the Premier League, he will likely aim to follow in the footsteps of his former Barcelona coach, Pep Guardiola, who has achieved remarkable success with Manchester City.
