Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are set to compete for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer, with Spurs currently leading the race in the charm offensive. Eze’s friends and family were recently spotted in his agency’s hospitality suite at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, indicating Spurs’ strong interest.

United, under new management, are keen to make Eze a marquee signing in their first summer window. However, they face challenges, as they finished the season with a negative goal difference and are yet to decide the future of manager Erik ten Hag. Additionally, they would likely need to offload players to afford Eze’s £60 million release clause. Palace is reluctant to lose Eze or fellow star Michael Olise, who played a crucial role in the team’s strong finish under new boss Oliver Glasner.

While financially stable Tottenham could afford the fee, manager Ange Postecoglou has other areas to strengthen and might be cautious about spending too much on Eze. Eze, 25, is represented by CAA Base, which has strong ties with Spurs, representing players like Son Heung-Min and James Maddison. The base also has a hospitality box at the stadium, further indicating the close relationship between Eze’s camp and Tottenham.

Here is the skill highlight video of Eberechi Eze.
