Milan is increasingly optimistic about securing a deal for Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, as they prepare to fully commit to acquiring the talented forward. Securing a new center forward is a top priority for the Rossoneri in the upcoming summer transfer window, as they seek a replacement for Olivier Giroud, who is set to join Los Angeles FC.

While several potential targets have been considered, such as Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord, and Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart, Zirkzee has consistently impressed Milan’s management as the summer window draws near.

Milan’s focus on Zirkzee is emphasized in a report by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, detailing the confidence of directors Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani in their position to secure the striker. They are prepared to activate Zirkzee’s €40 million release clause at Bologna, effective from July 1st. With Bayern Munich pursuing other targets, Milan believes they have a strong chance of outmaneuvering competitors for the Dutch forward. His agent, Kia Joorabchian, is reportedly seeking commissions in the range of €10-12 million, a figure deemed acceptable by Moncada and Furlani.

As a backup option, Milan is still considering Feyenoord’s Gimenez, who has also attracted interest from the Premier League. The Mexican striker is anticipated to come with a price tag of €40-50 million.
