Lazio is in the process of ending Igor Tudor’s contract following recent unsuccessful discussions aimed at easing tensions between the coach and the club.

The 46-year-old Croatian took charge of the Biancocelesti in March after Maurizio Sarri’s unexpected resignation. Sarri felt his three-year tenure had ended prematurely, prompting a mid-season change.

During his tenure, Tudor oversaw 11 matches for Lazio, achieving a seventh-place finish and securing Europa League qualification with six wins and three draws across Serie A and the Coppa Italia. He had initially signed a one-year contract with an option for a second.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Tudor has opted to depart Lazio due to an inability to reach consensus with president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Angelo Fabiani regarding the club’s future plans in Rome.

His contract termination is imminent, prompting Lazio to swiftly seek a replacement. One potential candidate is Marco Baroni, who is reportedly open to leaving Hellas Verona; he recently met with Monza CEO Adriano Galliani to explore the possibility of joining the club.
