The two clubs have a positive relationship following Carney Chukwuemeka’s move from Villa to Chelsea, which may facilitate negotiations.
Chelsea, under new head coach Enzo Maresca, is also interested in Villa forward Jhon Duran and may explore a swap deal. Maresca, who recently joined from Leicester, is eyeing several key signings, including a new goalkeeper, center-back, left-back, and forward, potentially targeting Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who has a £113 million release clause.
