Craig Bellamy has significant backing within Burnley to become the club’s next manager following their relegation. The 44-year-old Welshman, who opted against joining Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich, is currently serving as acting head coach, assisted by Mike Jackson. Owner Alan Pace is reportedly seeking a high-profile manager, with Frank Lampard and Scott Parker among the preferred candidates.

However, there is strong internal support for Bellamy to secure the position permanently. Bellamy has been with Burnley since 2022, following Kompany from Anderlecht. His familiarity with the club’s structure and players is seen as a major advantage. Lampard is admired for his previous work with Chelsea and Everton, although his recent interim stint at Chelsea yielded just one win in 11 matches.

Parker, who has managed Fulham and Bournemouth, last coached Club Brugge in Belgium. His experience with Belgian players could be beneficial, given Burnley’s squad composition. Pace has assured fans he is actively working on securing a new permanent manager, leaving the decision on whether to back Bellamy or bring in a big name.
