Cristiano Ronaldo was left in tears after Al-Nassr’s heartbreaking 5-4 penalty shootout loss to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Cup final. Despite Ronaldo scoring his spot-kick, his efforts couldn’t prevent the defeat. The match ended 1-1 after extra-time, thanks to an 88th-minute equalizer from Al-Nassr’s Ayman Yahya. Al-Hilal’s Ali Albulayhi was shown a straight red card shortly before Yahya’s goal.

Earlier, former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina received a red card, leaving Al-Nassr with ten men. The drama continued as Kalidou Koulibaly, who joined Al-Hilal from Chelsea, was sent off in stoppage time for a second yellow card. Aleksandar Mitrovic had given Al-Hilal the lead in the seventh minute. The game proceeded to extra time and then penalties.

Ruben Neves of Al-Hilal missed the first penalty, followed by a miss from Al-Nassr’s Alex Telles. Mitrovic and Ronaldo converted their penalties, keeping the scores level. Saud Abdulhamid missed for Al-Hilal, but Ali Alhassan failed to capitalize for Al-Nassr. Nasser Aldawsari’s successful penalty put Al-Hilal ahead 5-4, and Meshari Al-Nemer’s miss sealed Al-Nassr’s defeat, leaving Ronaldo devastated.
