La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that once Inter coach Simone Inzaghi finalizes a new contract with the Serie A champions, his sway over the club’s transfers will increase.

Inzaghi is set to ink a contract extension at the Stadio Meazza, with La Gazzetta confirming that his new deal will earn him €6.5 million, inclusive of add-ons.

This would temporarily elevate him to the highest-paid coach in Serie A, pending Antonio Conte’s appointment as Napoli’s new coach, who is expected to earn €8 million per season at the Stadio Maradona.

According to Gazzetta, Inzaghi’s enhanced contract won’t just boost his salary but also his authority and impact within the club.

The publication asserts that the coach will possess the “authority to request reinforcements” and veto the potential departure of key players, with exceptions for substantial offers.

Gazzetta claims that Inzaghi has already pinpointed three additions for his Inter squad in the 2024-25 season, alongside Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski, who have already joined the Nerazzurri.

Inter will be on the lookout for a fifth striker, a fresh central defender, and a goalkeeper capable of succeeding Yann Sommer in the foreseeable future.
