Manchester United have reportedly been offered a sensational swap deal involving Mason Greenwood and Joao Felix. Greenwood, 22, spent the season on loan at Getafe, where he became a fan favorite. While Manchester United are yet to decide on his future, they are believed to be aiming to sell him this summer for £40 million.
Getafe wishes to retain Greenwood but may struggle with the fee. Other clubs, including Barcelona, Juventus, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid, are also interested. Atletico are reportedly willing to offer Joao Felix in a swap deal. Felix, 24, joined Atletico Madrid for £96 million from Benfica five years ago. Initially impactful, he fell out with manager Diego Simeone and was loaned to Chelsea in 2023, then spent this season with Barcelona.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, is pushing for another move, with Atletico valuing him at around £50 million.Greenwood, who has one year left on his Manchester United contract, expressed gratitude to Getafe and its fans, stating, “Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own.”
