Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s representative, Mamuka Jugeli, has verified that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has submitted an offer to secure the talented Georgian winger from Napoli.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday, PSG has put forward an €80 million proposition to acquire Kvaratskhelia from Napoli. Confirming this development, the winger’s agent stated that PSG, a prominent club in Ligue 1, has indeed made a formal bid to enlist his client’s services.
Addressing Georgian journalists, Kvaratskhelia’s agent, as cited by Alfredo Pedullà, debunked rumors of interest from Saudi clubs but affirmed PSG’s genuine interest and offer. He emphasized that the outcome now rests on negotiations between Napoli and their president, De Laurentiis.
“The player is currently focused on the Euros and is determined to perform well in Georgia’s inaugural participation in a major tournament. He prefers not to entertain distractions,” added the agent.
Negotiations between Napoli and Kvaratskhelia are ongoing regarding a potential contract extension.
It’s worth noting that Kvaratskhelia did not sign a new contract following Napoli’s historic Serie A triumph in the 2022-23 season, hence he continues to earn €1.5 million annually. Earlier reports from Gazzetta suggested that Kvaratskhelia and his representative had requested a new contract worth €5 million per annum, while Napoli has been reluctant to exceed €4 million.
Notably, Kvaratskhelia’s current contract with Napoli does not include a release clause, and Napoli’s absence from European competitions this season further complicates the situation.
In the 2023-24 season, the Georgian standout amassed 11 goals and provided nine assists in 45 appearances across various competitions. His existing contract with Napoli is set to expire in 2027.
