The Spanish manager has revitalized the club, transforming them from struggling Championship contenders to Champions League hopefuls in just 19 months. This announcement kicks off Villa’s 150th anniversary season on a high note.

Chairman Nassef Sawiris expressed his excitement, stating, “We are building something special here at Aston Villa with Unai at its core.” Emery will become the highest-paid manager in Villa’s history, earning £8 million annually, or about £154,000 a week, before bonuses. Emery’s leadership led Villa to a surprising fourth-place finish last season, securing their first Champions League qualification in 41 years.

The club also reached the UEFA Conference League semi-finals. Emery shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We are really excited to continue this journey with no limits to our dreams.” Villa’s billionaire owners, Sawiris and Wes Edens, emphasized their long-term vision by securing Emery amid interest from top European clubs. The club now looks forward to its historic anniversary year with renewed ambition and stability.
