According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Thiago Motta views Andrea Cambiaso, Kenan Yildiz, and Nicolò Fagioli as indispensable members of his Juventus squad. Motta is slated to take over as the new coach of Juventus for the 2024-25 season. While the official confirmation of his appointment is expected at the start of June, the report suggests that Motta’s leadership at the Allianz Stadium has essentially begun.

The report indicates that Motta has already singled out three players whom he deems essential: Cambiaso, Yildiz, and Fagioli. Cambiaso, the Italian full-back, recently extended his contract until 2029, while Yildiz is on the verge of signing a new deal. Fagioli, who recently returned from a seven-month ban for gambling, is also considered indispensable by Motta.

Motta is keen on retaining Gleison Bremer and forming a defensive partnership with Riccardo Calafiori, although the club may need to sell Bremer to finance the acquisition of the Bologna defender.

Next week, there will be a crucial meeting between Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and Adrien Rabiot’s agent and mother, Veronique, to determine the French midfielder’s future beyond 2024. Bayern Munich and several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Rabiot, who previously played alongside Thiago Motta during their time at PSG.

The futures of Federico Chiesa and Wojciech Szczesny remain uncertain, particularly with Juventus reportedly reaching a preliminary agreement to sign Michele Di Gregorio from Monza.
