The Premier League giants are on the hunt for a new manager following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues are specifically interested in younger coaches, particularly those who have recently achieved promotion from the Championship.

Initial discussions were held with Ipswich Town’s manager, Kieran McKenna, but it appears he is no longer in contention. Thomas Frank from Brentford is another option being considered by Chelsea, with the possibility of him making the move to west London.

However, according to The Telegraph, Enzo Maresca has emerged as the leading candidate. The Italian, formerly an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, steered Leicester to the Championship title in the 2023-24 season.

Chelsea has reportedly sought permission to approach Maresca formally, following positive initial talks. A deal could soon be finalized, with the 44-year-old poised to take on the challenge of meeting the high expectations set by the club’s ambitious owners at Stamford Bridge.
