Bastoni, the Inter center-back, has secured the title of the best Serie A defender for the 2023-24 season, while Zirkzee has been hailed as the top U23 player in the league.
Bastoni’s Inter clinched the Serie A championship with five matches remaining, while Zirkzee played a pivotal role in Bologna’s remarkable journey, culminating in their first Champions League qualification since 1964, when the tournament was referred to as the ‘European Cup.’
In the course of the season, Zirkzee showcased his prowess by netting 11 goals and contributing five assists across 34 league appearances. Unfortunately, he has been sidelined due to injury for the past two games and will also be absent for the final match of the season against Genoa tonight.
