According to Inews, Nottingham Forest must offload players before the end of the following month to avoid once again violating profit and sustainability regulations. The club incurred a four-point deduction in March and slipped into the relegation zone, but managed to bounce back, securing a 17th place finish, six points ahead of Luton Town in 18th.

The report emphasizes that Forest will need to sell players to steer clear of breaching PSR rules. Clubs must submit their financial accounts for the 2023/24 season by June 30, and are permitted to incur a maximum loss of £105 million over a three-year period, or £35 million per season. Without player sales, Forest will fail to meet the requirements, potentially resulting in a points deduction at the start of the upcoming season.

The extent of Forest’s spending capabilities if they fail to meet PSR standards remains uncertain, but several key players have already been linked with moves away. For instance, Callum Hudson-Odoi has been rumored to be considering a summer transfer to Tottenham.

With the transfer window set to open on June 14, Forest may be inclined to initiate deals promptly. Hudson-Odoi represents just one potential departure, although it remains to be seen if other clubs will be willing to meet Forest’s demands, considering their widely acknowledged urgency.
