Robert Lewandowski clarifies Barcelona future amid transfer speculations

Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022 and led the team to a La Liga title in his first season, remains committed to the club despite a trophyless campaign and lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League.

The 35-year-old Lewandowski, who transferred from Bayern Munich to Barcelona in 2022, led the team to a La Liga title in his debut season. Despite a trophyless campaign this year, the Polish striker remains committed to Barcelona, dismissing lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Lewandowski stated: “Of course, for me it is super clear. I want to win many titles with Barcelona and I am sure that next season we will be even stronger and we will also win titles. I always want the best, not just for me, but for my teammates and I am sure that this team will win titles next season because I see what we do each day. For me that is what matters because this a club that I hold close to my heart and I want to give a lot for the team and the club.”

Currently, Barcelona trails La Liga champions Real Madrid by 12 points with one game left, a stark contrast to last season when Xavi’s squad led by 10 points. Financial challenges make it tough to compete with Madrid, a situation that could worsen if Kylian Mbappe joins them this summer. Nonetheless, Lewandowski, under contract until 2026, remains optimistic about Barcelona’s future.

Lewandowski’s team, which exited in the quarter-finals of both the Champions League and Copa Del Rey in the 2023-24 season, will finish their La Liga campaign against Sevilla on Sunday night. To date, Lewandowski has scored 58 goals and provided 17 assists in 94 matches for Barcelona.
