Probable scenario emerges in Kvaratskhelia’s Barcelona and PSG speculation

PSG and Barcelona, along with other clubs, have shown interest in Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. However, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the most probable outcome for the Georgian player is a contract extension with a release clause.

Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis is prepared to hold discussions with Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, regarding extending the contract of the talented Georgian player.

According to the latest update from La Gazzetta dello Sport, a meeting between the two parties is scheduled to take place early in the upcoming season, likely within the next two weeks.

Kvaratskhelia has requested a new contract worth €5 million annually through his representatives, while Napoli is hesitant to offer more than €4 million plus potential bonuses.

The winger’s agent has already informed Napoli about the interest from PSG and Barcelona in his client, although PSG is viewed as the frontrunner due to their stronger financial standing.

While President De Laurentiis hasn’t dismissed the possibility of a transfer, the most probable scenario, according to Gazzetta, is Kvaratskhelia renewing his contract with Napoli, possibly with a release clause included.

The value of this release clause would likely exceed €100 million, potentially nearing the range of Osimhen’s clause, which is between €120 million and €130 million.

Currently earning €1.5 million per season, Kvaratskhelia’s existing contract expires in June 2027. Napoli did not extend his contract following their title-winning campaign in 2022-23, but they are expected to present a proposal in the near future.
